Curaçao licence check: what the certificate and register say

Curaçao gives you two public ways to check a casino licence: a certificate page for one domain, and a register of every licence the regulator has issued. On 21 September 2026 we checked 12 casinos with both. All 12 certificates said "Active". For 5 of them, the register printed "Assessment in progress" next to an expiry date that had already passed.

Neither source is wrong on its own terms. They answer different questions, and a proper Curaçao licence check reads both. This guide shows what each one prints, where they disagree, and five checks that catch the common problems. For the general method across regulators, start with how to check a crypto casino licence.

The two sources, and what each one prints

The certificate lives at cert.cga.cw and is issued for one domain. A casino usually links to it from the seal in its footer. The text follows one template: "This is to certify that [domain] is operated by [company], a company incorporated under the laws of Curaçao with Company Number [number] and licensed by the Curaçao Gaming Authority … under license number [number]." It ends with the date the licence was granted and "its current status".

The register is a PDF linked from the Curaçao Gaming Authority's licence register page. The edition dated 21 September 2026 runs to 28 pages and lists 665 entries. Each row has seven columns: licence number, licensee, company type, company registration number, issue date, expiry date and status. It does not list domains.

The certificate tells you which company a domain belongs to. The register tells you where that company's licence stands in the regulator's review cycle. You need both.

Where they disagreed on 21 September 2026

We opened the 13 certificate pages BullsRank holds for casinos we track and looked up each licence number in the register edition dated 21 September.

Certificate "Active", register "Assessment in progress" with a passed expiry date (5):

Certificate "Active", register "Indefinite" with no expiry date (7 domains, 5 licences): mbitcasino.io, katsubet.com and 7bitcasino.com (all OGL/2024/1307/0748), livecasino.io, sportsbet.io, Roobet.com and bitsler.com.

Certificate "Not Found" (1): the certificate link we held for Rollbit's former licence, OGL/2024/1260/0494. The register has printed that entry as "Expired" since the edition dated 8 September 2026. What "Assessment in progress" means

The register doesn't define its statuses, and the regulator's register page warns against reading too much into them. In its own words, the overviews "do not guarantee the current validity of the licenses, as the licensing status of the entities may vary over time. Therefore, no rights can be derived from these overviews."

What the data shows is that the status is common. In the edition dated 21 September 2026:

• Assessment in progress: 281 entries

• Indefinite: 207 (no expiry date printed)

• Expired: 60

• Revoked: 50

• Blank status: 67

Of the 281 in assessment, 276 carried an expiry date that had already passed on 21 September. Across the whole register, 280 of 665 entries (42.1%) were past their printed date without being marked expired or revoked. Our Curaçao register census tracks how those numbers move edition by edition.

So a passed expiry date next to "Assessment in progress" is the normal state for a large share of Curaçao licences, not a sign that a particular casino has been singled out. It is still worth knowing, because the certificate alone won't tell you.

Five checks that catch the common problems

1. Open the certificate on the regulator's own domain. A real certificate page is served from cert.cga.cw. Older links on cert.gcb.cw redirect there. A screenshot or a copy hosted anywhere else proves nothing.

2. Match the domain on the certificate to the address bar. Certificates are issued per domain. The certificate that Jack's licence number leads to is issued for jack10.com, not jack.com. Our Jack profile records the difference. If the domain on the certificate isn't the one you're on, the certificate doesn't cover your site.

3. Match the company number, not only the name. The certificates for mbitcasino.io, katsubet.com and 7bitcasino.com name "Scores55 Tech B.V."; the register row for the same licence names "Scores55 Tech N.V.". The company number, 162990, is the same in both. Names get retyped; numbers are what you match on.

4. Find the licence number in the latest register edition, and read the dates. The register page links the current edition as a PDF, with its date in the file name. Read the status and the expiry date together. Dates can be wrong: one of the two entries added in the edition dated 21 September, Aquarius Entertainment N.V. (CGA/2025/1634/1347), is printed as issued on 17 September 2026 and expiring on 17 March 2026, six months before it was issued.

5. Write down the date you checked. The register changes in batches: 28 entries moved from "Assessment in progress" to "Expired" in the single edition dated 8 September 2026. A check without a date only tells you about the day you made it.

If the certificate says "Not Found"

The page reads "The site you are looking for cannot be found in our registry, or has the wrong identification values." That can mean the link is wrong, or that no certificate exists for that domain any more. Look the licence number up in the register. If the register prints "Expired" or "Revoked", or doesn't list the number at all, the casino's footer is describing a licence the regulator no longer shows as current. Check whether the site now names a different regulator, as Rollbit's does.

Our reading

The certificate is the only Curaçao source that ties a licence to a domain, so it's the first thing to check. It is not the whole answer. On 21 September 2026, five certificates said "Active" for licences the register listed as still under assessment and past their printed dates. We report both, with the date, on every Curaçao licence line on our operator profiles, and we don't treat either one as a safety rating.

We have not asked the Curaçao Gaming Authority to explain how a certificate's "Active" relates to a register status of "Assessment in progress". Any answer it sends will be added here with its date.
